Cricket: England VS West Indies 3rd Test, England 258/4 at the end of first day’s play

After early falls and loosing the first wicket in first over of the day and being on 122/4 at one stage England built a strong partnership for 5th wicket between Jos Buttler, Ollie Pope of 136 runs and both are still at the crease. England managed to grip the match.

England was playing 1 batsman short and in even of early fall of 5th wicket the bowlers would have been up for display against West Indies bowling.

But both Jos Buttler and Ollie Pope shown great character. Buttler the wicket keeper batsman is famous for his destructive batting especially in one day format of the cricket shown solid defense early on and took his time and played with straight bat initial on to ensure he is not going to throw away his wicker by any loose shot. Buttler is at the crease and scored 56 runs on 120 balls and hit 5 boundaries and 2 good sixes in it.

Ollie Pope dominated the partnership with 91 runs and he is just 9 runs short with what would me a spectacular hundred one to remember and the innings came at a time when needed most as it will have a straight impact on the outcome of the series result in this last decider test between both.

Ollie Pope showed a great display of batting and skill and hit 11 boundaries all over the ground on 142 bowls he faced.

The matched stopped 4 overs 2 bowls earlier than the originally scheduled minimum 90 overs for the day the bowling quota minimum to be bowled on a day in any test match.

But bad light interrupted the play and the day had to be called off earlier by umpires.

The weather forecast for today the Saturday Sunday and Monday for Manchester isn’t good as heavy rains are expected and if this would b true than the match could be washed out without result
